Katarzyna and Jonathan

On Friday 31st October Katarzyna (Kasia) and Jonathan were married at The Abbey Church in Erdington and then went on to celebrate in style at the beautiful Moor Hall Hotel.
The happy couple originally met at Keele university 6 years ago. Jon lived in the same house as the netball captain that Kasia played with. It was on a night out, all together as mates that Jonathan decided Kasia was a bit of alright! He kept asking her for her number and after several jaeger bombs she gave in. Their first date was to Garcias Restaurant and it happened to be on valentines night. When I asked them what had attracted them to each other Kasia said it was that he was a cheeky chappy…… And Jonathan said,” Look at her,” awwww then he followed it with how fit she is haha… On 7th July 2013 Jonathan had decided the time had come to ask Kasia to marry him. He cooked a 3 course meal, and it was during the desert that Kasia noticed a box wrapped up really tightly in the middle of her pavlova, and then it all clicked! Jonathan got down on one knee but Kasia was so excited about unwrapping the box she hadn’t even realised. Obviously she said yes and it’s been planning, planning, planning ever since. Kasia has been completely hands on and made everything from invitations to the table plan. She really has an eye for it!
At last the big day arrived and it was a beautiful autumn day, and unseasonably warm for the very end of October.  Kasia was having her make-up applied when I arrived and her bridesmaids were all excitedly running around in matching Chinese dressing gowns.   The Bucks Fizz was going down nicely and it was a lovely atmosphere.
Her beautiful dress was made by Impression and was beautiful. It was a gorgeous Ivory lace and mikado silk gown with the delicate lace to the bodice, the waist band had a diamante and crystal embellishment , a chapel length train and crystal buttons to the back.  Kasia wore it with a full length veil and carried a bouquet of burgundy and amnesia roses, berries all in autumn colours. She looked amazing. It was soon time to make our way to church. Jonathan was accompanied by his Bestman Rob and Ushers Rysio, Stefan (Brides Brothers) and Sam (Brother in law), Charlie (7yrs Nephew) was the pageboy, he looked super smart. They all did a great job of keeping Jonathan calm as he nervously waited for his beautiful Bride. Next to arrive were the Bridesmaids, they were Maid of Honour Rachel, Nikki, Nikki, Kelly and Vicky (Grooms sister) the flowergirl was Jessie (2yrs Niece).  They all looked beautiful. Finally Kasia arrived with her very proud Dad Joe.  She made her way from the car into the sunshine and walked hand in hand with Joe to the church. It was an extra special moment for Joe as he has seen many weddings at this church, he is after all the organist, but on this day it was his turn to walk his daughter down the aisle.    Father Gabrielle Maguire gave a lovely service, there was a reading in Polish from Stefan and the translation in English from Fiona.  Nick & Jen gave the bidding prayers.   It wasn’t long before the vows were made, rings exchanged and the new Bride and Groom stole a cheeky little kiss.  Joe then conducted the choir as they sang beautifully for everyone.  After the registers were signed and witnessed by Rob & Rachel, it was almost time to lead everyone back out of the Abbey into the sunny autumn day to start the celebrations.                                                                   The reception was held at the beautiful Moor Hall Hotel which is where we did all our photographs.  Moor Hall has some beautiful locations for photography as you will see below.  We had a great time capturing happy memories for this couple.  The light started to fade and it was time for the wedding breakfast.  The charter suite looked beautiful and Kasia had created all the decorations (except the flowers), I particularly liked the trick or treat favours.  Being Halloween it couldn’t go completely un-celebrated hehe…. so  a Jaegerbomb shot for everyone, just like their first night out, was definitely the thing to do, along with a picture with some pumpkins 😉 .  The speeches were very funny and emotional, reducing many to tears several times and finally the party began.  Kasia & Jonathan danced their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s latest hit, ‘Thinking Out Loud.’  When we left everyone was kicking off their shoes and partying the night away.  It really had been a wonderful day and night.

Congratulations Kasia & Jonathan, we wish you a very long and happy life together.  The newly weds are honeymooning in the Dominican Republic.  Have a wonderful time.

A Big Thank You to Marina and all her staff who worked so hard at this beautiful wedding.  A pleasure as always.
