Caroline & William

Caroline and Will were married on Saturday 13th December 2014 at Holy Trinity C of E church in Sutton Coldfield, they then celebrated in style at the beautiful Swinfen Hall Hotel. It was a perfect winters day, the sun was low in the crystal blue sky, the frost sparkled from the ground, everything this happy couple had dreamed of for their wedding day….. So, where did it all begin?

Carrie and Will met originally met at the University of Cambridge whilst they were both students there between 2004 and 2007.  However they re-met years later in November 2010 whilst on a Monopoly themed pub crawl.  They’d hit it off straight away and decided to arrange a date. Their first date started off with drinks which led to dinner at The Folly, near Monument station.  They had Proseccco before moving on to G & T’s and burgers! They then went for a walk over the Millenium Bridge and Carrie was cold (Will says as always!)  so he wrapped her up in his scarf to keep her warm.  Carrie liked the fact he was easy going and talkative, he had a good sense of humour and liked buying her cocktails.  Will had fancied Carrie throughout Cambridge –  her eyes, her smile, her intelligence, willingness to always give things a go, her infectious personality and enthusiasm for everything.  Meeting her on that pubcrawl had been the perfect piece of fate!  On 23rd November 2013 Will proposed to Carrie just outside the Tate Modern after they had been for drinks at The Folly, crossed the Millenium Bridge as on their first date.  It was whilst they were beside The Bridge that Will dropped to one knee, ring in hand and asked Carrie to marry him.  Carrie was stunned and couldn’t say anything at first before accepting and then she called her Mum straight away!  They then went for dinner at Galvin at Windows at the top of the Hilton on Park Lane.

So the wedding day arrived and everything was going perfectly.  The girls all arrived back from the hairdressers and everyone was running around so they would be ready on time.  Carrie’s stunning Stella York dress hung in her Mum’s bedroom.  It was an Elegant and enchanting lace wedding gown featuring handcrafted Diamante beading and Lace in gold, It had shoulder straps and plunging V neck to frame your face and draw the eye to the waist, while the fit-and-flare silhouette hugs your every curve. Additional details included a plunging back, lace hem and a zipper back under sparkling crystal buttons.  Carrie wore it with a half length veil, blue shoes and carried a bouquet of white roses.  She looked amazing and I couldn’t wait for Will to see her.  The boys were waiting at Church with Will, keeping him calm as they waited for the Bride.  They were Best Man & Brother Simon, Alex, Andy, Rufus, Monty and Richard (Carrie’s Brother) They all looked very smart.  Next to arrive were the Bridesmaids.  they were Emma, Mandy, Katherine, Eleanor & Sarah (Will’s sister),  The flowergirl was Gabby (Niece).  They all looked beautiful in indigo blue, carrying smaller bouquets of roses. Finally our beautiful bride arrived with her very proud Dad Maurice.  He beamed from ear to ear as he helped his daughter from the car.  The organ started to play and Carrie and Maurice walked the aisle towards Will.  His face was a picture.  It was a lovely service with readings from Will’s friend Adam and Carrie’s friend Liz.  The vows were made, rings exchanged and the happy couple shared a cheeky little kiss before signing the registers.  The witnesses were both the Mothers, Adelaide and Kate. Carrie’s friend from university sang whilst they signed. Carrie and Will then walked to the high alter for the final blessing and the last hymn before walking back down the aisle to start the celebrations.

We captured some fantastic photographs both at Church and in and around the gorgeous Swinfen Hall.  The weather, although icy cold was glorious.  The frost didn’t thaw all day long but Carrie and Will were oblivious to it all.  They were just more than happy to let us photograph away to our hearts content and both were such a pleasure to photograph.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  It wasn’t long until we were taking our last photographs with the wedding cake and Carrie & Will were receiving their guests for dinner.  It truely had been a wonderful winter wedding.  Carrie and Will would like to thank their Best Man, Ushers, Bridesmaids, Flowergirl, parents Adelaide, Maurice, Kate & Rupert and finally Swinfen Hall for helping them and being their for them on this very special day.

Congratulations Carrie & Will, we wish you a very long and happy life together.  The newly weds are honeymooning in St Lucia after Christmas.

A big thank you to Ruth, Michael and all the staff at Swinfen Hall for all their hard work on this beautiful wedding.  A pleasure as always.
