Rebecca & Kurt – Alrewas Hayes
Rebecca & Kurt tied the knot in a beautiful civil ceremony before friends and family at Alrewas Hayes on October 1st 2016.
Weddings are not always warm and sunny! It’s challenging and sometimes fun for the photographer at a wet wedding to come up with ways of maximising the surroundings and making the most of the situation. At this particular wedding the rain did not let up the whole day; We weren’t lucky enough to get outside at with our happy couple as ‘downpour’ was a slight understatement but the few times we had to encounter the elements we grabbed the umbrella’s and made the best of the rain. Some of my favourite shots are taken with umbrella’s or wellies and the shot of Rebecca & Kurt’s daughters was one of those favourite moments, so cute… it just had to make an appearance on the blog. But weather aside nothing would dampen the spirits of our happy couple. From the organised chaos at the Bride’s home in the morning to the magician, Owen Strickland, and his magic tricks… there was never a dull moment. Becky & Kurt have 4 children and they all did themselves proud. Their sons took their ring baring roles very seriously, they looked so dapper in their suits and their daughters were the perfect princesses. We had great fun with Becky & Kurt’s Bridesmaids, Ushers and Bestman and thanks to a certain L*O*V*E sign they worked their poses and we worked our magic. As I said before the rain was too heavy to even contemplate going outside but we took plenty of photographs in and around Alrewas Hayes and captured some beautiful moments for our newlyweds. It really had been a wonderful day and the rain never spoilt a thing, afterall people make a wedding, not the weather, the flowers, the photos, the food, the people and a great bunch of people they were. We finished off our shoot with a mock cutting of the cake before everyone tucked in to the sumptuous wedding breakfast. Thank you Becky & Kurt for asking us to photograph your very special day, we wish you a very long and happy life together. Also a big thank you to all the staff at Alrewas Hayes for all their hard work at this beautiful wedding. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Finally a big thank you to Tracey Ewins who was my second shooter at the wedding, a great job as always.
