Katie & Mark ~ New Hall Hotel

When your wedding date just so happens to be very close to Halloween and Bonfire Night, you have two options ~ one, ignore it altogether, or two, embrace it and pull out all the stops. Katie & Mark did just that, fusing the beautiful colours of autumn,  pumpkin inspired decorations and colours with an enchanted theme, tied up with a firework or two for a result that’s both elegant and inspiring.  But I expected nothing less from dear Katie as she and Mark had been planning this wonderful day for a very long time! Almost 3 years to be exact and I can confirm I think Katie is probably one of my most excited Brides…. EVER! ♥

It was back to New Hall Hotel for us on the 28th October 2017 and I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time.  Katie was in the final stages of hair and make up by the very talented Gemma Neville and Helen Pearson when I arrived.  The Bridesmaids were happily running around, bubbles were flowing and it was the quietest I had ever seen Katie as she took it all in… I don’t think she could quite believe it was really here and happening, but it was, we had lots fun with the Bridesmaids and Wayne from Always & forever Videos, it was all going to plan perfectly.  Meanwhile Mark was waiting downstairs with his Bestmen and Ushers who did a marvellous job of keeping him calm as he waited for his Bride.  As we worked our way around the stunning grounds of New Hall I noticed there were Pumpkins scattered around everywhere to keep the theme consistent throughout and the colours were striking against the late autumn sunshine, I did have to have a little smile to myself… even Katie & Marks dog is called Pumpkin!  Finally the time arrived for the ceremony and as their family and friends eagerly gathered in the Great Chamber, Katie and her lovely Mum (who was giving her away) took a few deep breathes, had a hug for good luck and at last the wedding was underway.  Rebecca Kelly provided the beautiful music throughout the day , wonderful as always…  Ayla, Isobel & Jacob proudly walked the aisle first to oohs and ahhh’s and at last Mark saw his beautiful Katie. It was a very sweet ceremony which included a few readings, causing a few tears of happiness and a few giggles, ultimately their ‘I do’s’ were said and they had their first kiss. Mr & Mrs Hartshorn finally did it!!  Leading everyone back out into the sunshine everyone celebrated with the Bride & Groom, with celebratory hugs, kisses and a glass or two of the good stuff.  We captured some beautiful photographs as you will see below and had a great time with the Bridal Party. Finally we took the happy couple around New Hall for their more intimate shots.  Because of the time of year the sun was low and the colours really added to their photos but it was also so warm, such a stunning day.  It was soon time for everyone to be seated in the Garden Pavilion for the wedding breakfast and the brilliant speeches. The pavilion looked stunning. Katie & Mark really had thought of everything and all their hard work had paid off.  We had tears of happiness, sides aching from laughter with all the funny stories about Katie & Mark, and the sun finally set on a glorious day.  New Hall is lit up so beautifully at night we couldn’t help but take advantage of it and went back out again for some night time photography.  Some of these photographs are my absolute favourites from the whole day, but I wasn’t quite finished yet.  Katie and Mark surprised everyone with a fantastic firework display and then kicked off the Jimmy Choo’s for a good old knees up 😉  A big thank you Katie & Mark for asking us to be a part of your very special day, the pleasure really was all ours.  I hope you love the pictures as much as we enjoyed taking them.  We wish you both a very long and happy married life together ♥

A big thank you Spencer and all the staff at New Hall for all your hard work, a pleasure as always.  AND a big shout out to the florist, Clare Handascre.… all those PUMPKINS!!!!  FABULOUS ♥
