Christy & Matt ~ Drayton Manor Hotel

Christy & Matt…. Where do I start??  Christy and I have been friends for over 20 years now and I was so excited for her when Matt popped the question in November 2016… Ever since I was a teenager she had ALWAYS said… “Sal, when I get married you are doing my photo’s hahaha!”  and it wasn’t long before the call came asking me what dates I had free…. How lovely, she even arranged her dates around me!!  I was over the moon to be photographing dear Christy’s wedding BUT who would have known what March 3rd 2018 was going to bring!!  ‘The Beast from the East!’ ‘Storm Emma!’  “Don’t worry Christy it will miss us” I said!!! ARG!!!  Only you Christy!!!! The coldest winter on record for many years with a lovely blizzard heading our way, half the country on a red weather warning, flights cancelled, roads closed, and as you can imagine a slightly stressed out Bride.  BUT if there is one thing about the wonderful people I work with in the wedding industry it’s that we all pull together.. regardless of the crisis and Christy & Matt still had a perfect day, made even more magical by the snow!  It was a wonderful day from start to finish, I had fun with the girls whilst they were getting ready and Matt was one of the most relaxed Groom’s I have ever had the pleasure to photograph. The cars from celebration safely got our gorgeous Bride to church and her Dad looked proud as punch as they made their way in to the warmth of All Saints Methodist Church in Four Oaks. It was a lovely ceremony, before we knew it the new Mr & Mrs Dandy were sharing their first kiss and making it all official by signing the register.   Due to the slightly adverse weather conditions we decided to photograph our groups inside the beautiful church before the newly weds ran through a tunnel of confetti to start the celebrations off at Drayton Manor Hotel.   Once we had arrived Christy & Matt were fabulous and braved the elements  so that we could capture some magical photographs in the snow.  We don’t often have snow and I wanted to make the very most of it on Christy & Matt’s wedding day.  As you will see below, we had a wonderful time.  See Christy….It may not have been the day you planned on having but I did tell you it would be fabulous… 😉 Whilst I am writing this and pondering about the next cold spell which is due to hit this weekend I am very happy to say the honeymooners are sipping cocktails in Mexico.  Have a brilliant time, enjoy the sunshine and here’s to you Mr & Mrs Dandy, may you have a very long and happy life together ♥

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make Christy and Matt’s day so very special, and to all the staff at Drayton Manor Hotel.  It was lovely to be back 🙂
