Andy & Mark ~ St Chads~Birmingham Registry Office & The Eastern Restaurant

When you plan a wedding for mid March you think of Easter chicks & baby lambs, snowdrops & daffodils, maybe some nice warm spring sunshine but you don’t really expect all four seasons in one day!  That, however, is exactly what Andy & Mark had on their wedding day.  One minute it was beautiful sunshine and blue skies and the next it was blowing a gail and we were in the midst of a blizzard! Having said all that it made for some great photographs as you will see below and NOTHING would dampen the spirits of my wonderful Grooms.   Saturday 17th March 2018…… and this is one wedding that will make me smile every time I think about it, to say it was a wedding with a difference is an understatement, it was like no wedding I have ever worked before and boy did we have some fun.  From the get go everything was different.  We started the day at St Chads in Sutton Coldfield for a prayer ceremony for the happy couple.  Andy & Mark walked the aisle together and the celebrations finally began. With hymns, readings and prayers said we then went to the church hall for a spot of brunch.  Bacon and sausage baps were on the menu with a cup of tea to wash it all down before guests made their way to The Ramada Hotel in Sutton Coldfield for photographs.  Andy, Mark & their bridal party also had a quick change of clothes.  As you will see below we had a lot of fun… especially with the Big Red Bus.  After many a snow shower and quite a few photographs guests were treated to a ride in either the Double Decker wedding bus or the limousine to Birmingham Registry Office, Mark & Andy followed in style in ‘The Bently’ 😉 Once at the registry office Andy & Mark finally made it official and after 17 years together, they tied the knot.  As with the church service in the morning it had been a lovely ceremony with heartfelt readings and a few tears from family & friends.  Even Andy’s Dad couldn’t hold back the tears as his son said ‘I Do’.  One priceless moment was when the happy couples Granddaughter confidently walked the aisle with her basket of petals to give Grandad the rings, too cute.   So a few more photographs were taken and it was back over to Sutton Coldfield and the Eastern restaurant for the wedding breakfast… Not before we got caught up in yet another Blizzard hehehe.  Once at the restaurant we were all treated to G&T’s and a smashing oriental meal, instead of a wedding cake we had wheels of cheese which were very very good, especially with the port 😉  Then the part everyone had been waiting for…. The Speeches.  They were side splittingly good, the kind that made you ache, especially young Hamish who had never made a speech in his life… totally awesome.  For the evening entertainment Andy & Mark didn’t opt for a disco but an amazing magician who demonstrated the most brilliant tricks… absolute magic.  The time then came around for us to say our goodbyes and battle the fast settling snow.  It had been the most wonderful day, we enjoyed every single minute of it.  Thank you Andy & Mark for asking us not only to photograph your very special and long awaited day but also for your generosity and hospitality.  We felt like part of the family ♥

Andy & Mark we wish you a very happy and long married life together,  I hope you enjoyed honeymooning in the Caribbean xx
