Ally & Neil ~ Moor Hall Hotel
Ally and Neil said their I Do’s at the beautiful Moor Hall Hotel on Thursday 13th December 2018. It was one of those perfect crisp winter days, low dazzling sunshine and freezing cold.
Ally was almost ready when I arrived, helping the little flowergirls into their dresses, applying that last coat of lippy. Her beautiful gown hung in the room and I knew she would look absolutely stunning when she put it on. Meanwhile downstairs Neil patiently waited with his bestman and ushers. The lads looked so smart in their suits and were eager for the day to begin and the partying to start. Time was passing by so quickly and Ally was soon decending the staircase at Moor Hall with her very proud Dad, the pair of them beaming from ear to ear. Along with the Bridesmaids and adorable flowergirls we all made our way to the ceremony with excitement. It was a lovely ceremony with heartfelt readings and a few happy tears. The vows and declerations were made, rings exchanged and our happy couple sealed the deal with a cheaky kiss. After the registers were signed the new Mr & Mrs Orton made their way back down the aisle to begin the celebrations. Being a December wedding and it also being quite late in the day the light was fading super quick, so after a big group shot of everyone on the steps, and a few photographs with Ally & Neil’s beautiful daughters, I stole the Bride and Groom away to grab some photographs before the sun set. These are always some of my favourite moments as the sun is so fierce and low this time of year, however when you get a day like this, for a short moment in time its magical and then it’s gone. The cold was biting at our fingers and toes as we made our way around the beautiful grounds of Moor Hall, Ally and Neil you were stars but it was so worth it. Finally with the sunshine disappearing we went back inside the warmth of the hotel to photograph our groups. It was soon time for everyone to take their seats for the wedding breakfast. Once all fed and watered it was time for the speeches which were brilliant. Ally’s Mum kicked things off with a little poem for her daughter and new son in law followed by Ally’s Dad. He had us all giggling away, warming us all up for the Groom. Neil also gave a great speech having us all in stitches and also his Brother and his new wife in tears as the emotion of the day caught up with them. Ally and Neil have had a difficult year with the health of their eldest daughter, but thankfully things are on the up and made the celebrations even more poignant. Everyone was given a pin from Birmingham Childrens Hospital , the proceeds of which donated to BCH, and that of the sweepstake (Which Neil’s Nan won) also being donated. What a wonderful thing to do for the wonderful care they provided. Then it was the Bestmans turn to wrap things up. He told us lots of secrets about Neil which were hilarious and ended the formalities on an absolute high. The evening guests started to arrive and I took Ally and Neil back outside for a very short while to take a few night time shots. Finally it was time for everyone to kick off their shoes and have a good old knees up. Ally, Neil and the two girls took to the dance floor for the first dance and were soon joined by everyone, as you can see they had loads of fun. It had been a wonderful day, Thank you Ally and Neil for all your hospitality and asking us to photograph your very special day. Here’s to a long and happy life together~ Sally & Dave xx
A big thank you to Hugh and all his staff at Moor Hall for all their hard work at another beautiful wedding
