Nicola & Carl ~ The Fairlawns Hotel

If you’ve ever watched “The Night Before Christmas” you’d know that Jack and Sally were ‘Simply meant to be….’  However it wasn’t Christmas, it was 24th June 2017 at The Fairlawns Hotel…. & it wasn’t Jack and Sally but Nicola and Carl and they too were ‘Simply meant to be…’  I won’t call it a Jack and Sally themed wedding because it wasn’t however Nicola’s quirky and artistic nature, and her passion for Jack & Sally definitely shone through… and the film characters did make little appearances,  Jack featured on Nic’s Garter as well as them both being their cake topper and cake knife.  I’d had a little heads up that Nic’s dress was going to be different, and I’d heard all about the knee high lace up boots 😉 but I still was blown away when I saw her gorgeous gown as it hung from the four poster bed in the Bridal suite.  However I do think Tilly’s (flowergirl) Dr Marteen’s were to die for and the little lady herself almost stole the show 😉  A very calm Carl waited patiently with his Brother/Bestman and Ushers, who did a marvellous job of keeping him occupied.  The time soon came around and Nicola and her very proud Dad walked the aisle to the ceremony.  Nicola had had a beautiful aisle runner made with a very special message for her Dad, I think that bought a lump to everyone’s throat.  It was a lovely ceremony and soon the happy couple were leading everyone outside into the sunshine for the celebrations to begin.  Guests watched with happiness as the couple released a surprise gift of white Doves, two of them to show them uniting as a family and one for those loved ones who are no longer with us.  As you will see below we captured some fantastic photographs around the grounds of The Fairlawns.  After the photography session everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast and the hilarious speeches.  Everyone’s sides hurt from all the laughter and no one every did find out if Carl pressed the stop button on the escalator when he was a little boy.  Finally as the sun began to set the party began and Nic & Carl shared their first dance, followed by a Father/Daughter dance.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Nicola & Carl’s wedding, I loved the quirkyness, I loved the colours and the flowers, the amazing broach Bouquet and I loved working with such a lovely group of people.  It truly had been a wonderful day.  Nicola & Carl we wish you both a very long and happy life together 🙂  Thank you for choosing us to photograph your very special day 🙂

Thank you to all the staff at The Fairlawn’s Hotel, it was lovely to be back xx
