Claire & Adrian ~ Clearwell Castle

It was a brand new venue for us at the end of September and boy was I excited to photograph there.  Take a castle, create the perfect wedding setting and sprinkle it with magic… This is what Claire and Adrian did and what a wonderful day we all had. Set in 20 acres of grounds,  Clearwell Castle is the perfect fairy-tale wedding venue. Step inside the house a be greeted by  grand reception rooms, a stunning ceremony room and a cellar bar,  they even have 2 resident donkeys 😉  It was absolutely perfect.  It was a bright crisp day which started off quite chilly but once the late September sunshine started to burn through it began to warm us all and was soon glorious.  Claire was having the final touches to her make up when we arrived and it wasn’t long until it was time to put on her stunning gown.  I don’t know who was more excited, Claire or her little flowergirl (Niece) who was like a bottle of pop and was desperate to get on her own beautiful dress for Aunty Claire’s big day.  Downstairs a very relaxed Ade arrived with his Bestman, he was full of laughter and banter as he always is and was eager for the day to begin.  Finally with their nearest and dearest seated in the Ballroom Claire and her very proud Dad descended the stairway and the wedding began.  It was a wonderful and relaxed ceremony, with many a giggle from the Bride & Groom.  With the formalities over, rings exchanged and registers signed the happy couple sealed the deal with a cheeky kiss and made their way back outside into the sunshine to begin the celebrations.  As you will see below we very much enjoyed photographing this crowd with a selection of informal, relaxed and traditional styles.  We then went for a little walk with Claire and Ade to capture some more intimate shots.  It wasn’t long before everyone was again seated and this time for the wedding breakfast.  The speeches came first, kicking off with Claire’s Dad, our Groom and then the Bestman.  They were fabulous speeches with everyone’s faces and sides hurting by the end.  After a sumptuous meal Claire and Ade very kindly agreed to nip back outside with me for some evening photography with some of these being my very favourites.  Then it was time to kick off the shoes and boogie the night away to some live music.  Claire and Ade had many family and friends travel from far and wide to attend their wonderful day, none further though than Claire’s sister, husband and children who came all the way from Australia,  I know they were very grateful to each and every one of you for making the journey, no matter how far, to celebrate with them, you all made it the most magical day, definitely one to remember.

Claire & Ade, thank you so much for choosing us to photograph your very special day, we had a wonderful time and wish you both a very happy and long life together ~ Sally & Dave

A big thank you to all the staff at Clearwell Castle for all your hospitality and hard work, I hope we get to work with you again in the future.
