Lucy & Michael ~ The Rugby School
I was so excited about photographing Lucy & Mike’s big day on the 27th October 2018 as it was at a new venue for me, “The Rugby School”. Having visited the school a few days previously with Lucy’s parents I was bursting to get started with all the ideas I had….. Lucy was in her hair and make-up when I arrived, with Bridesmaids happily pouring fizz and taking selfies. Lucy’s stunning gown hung in the bedroom upstairs and I set about my work. They were such a lovely group of girls, full of giggles and excitement, exactly as is should be on a wedding day. The time soon began to run away with us and it was time to make our way to St Marie’s Catholic Church for the ceremony. Mike, his Bestman and Ushers arrived full of good spirits to church. They did a great job keeping him calm with their banter as we waited for the guests to arrive. The Bridesmaids followed shortly after with Lucy’s Mum and then the moment we’d all been waiting for, Our stunning Bride and her very proud Dad. Sadly though the weather began to turn…. The wind picked up and a few spit spots of rain could be felt in the air, so out came the brollies. But Lucy wasn’t worried by a bit of rain as she walked the path to the stunning church before us. The ceremony was finally upon us and what a lovely service it was. There were heartfelt readings and great hymns. The vows were made, rings exchanged and registers signed. That was it it was official and the new Mr & Mrs Boyd walked back down the ailse to start the celebrations. The weather had become quite nasty outside with heavy rain so we decided to photograph the friends and family inside at Church. St Marie’s has the most exquisite backdrop and looked fabulous in our photographs. With the formalities out of the way we then made our way to The Rugby School and continued photographing the Bridal Party and the happy couple there. The rain however did not let up but it did not stop play at this wedding, with Brollies at the ready, we braved the elements and had so much fun doing so. Even though I wasn’t able to capture the ideas I had envisaged I think we captured something even better. We even got to photograph inside the most amazing library (which would never have happened had it not have rained!) The Rugby School reminded me of something out of Harry Potter film and with that in mind we decided to have some fun, Mike even magicked a few spells of his own 😉 Lucy & Mike were an absolute pleaure to photograph and were up for anything. Sadly for us our time drew to a close, I didn’t want it to end! We finished with a shot of the cutting of the cake before saying our goodbyes. As you will see below we had such a brilliant day. And to those future couples worrying about bad weather on your wedding day, don’t! Just look below to see all the fun we had ♥
Thank you Lucy & Mike for asking us to photograph your wonderful wedding and for your very kind hospitality, we wish you a very happy and long life together Sally & Janine xx
Also thank you to all the Staff at The Rugby School for all your hard work, it was apleasure to work with you and I really hope I get to photograph with you again.
